Our Main Prop

There is an extremely important prop that is necessary for our opening sequence. This is the letter of conviction that the woman has received. This letter is crucial as it is the reason that she is so upset. She is literally holding, in her own two hands, her own fate. The whole reason this event is occurring is because she has just recently opened the letter.
Without the letter, she would be unaware that she and seven other women have been convicted of witchcraft. The letter is so important because it has caused her to become helpless and hopeless. The woman will soon learn of her fate. There could be a public execution or maybe life imprisonment. She has no idea what the future holds but she has a good idea that it will not be positive. The letter of conviction has caused her to be sent into a state of despair and she is seen kneeling down, sobbing, fearing for her life.
This crucial prop helps the audience to have a better understanding as to what is going on and how she came to be aware of the incident and hence become so terribly upset.
